We stayed here from March 14th to March 22nd. A nice location (just 6 blocks from the beach walk, 4 blocks from Post office, ABC Convenience store just 1 block away). The room was ok (was on 12th floor with city/ocean view from balcony). The lobby was excellent. When we got off elevator on 12th floor, water stains on carpet... in the room, some stains on carpet. Beds were alright.
Housekeeping needs some work...there was two of us staying in the room but only left us one towel each morning. Also, only vacuumed the carpet once while there 9 days.
The pool was on the small side but it was clean. There is also a Sauna for Men and one for women.
The staff (besides housekeeping) was always courteous and polite.
You can read online that this place was bought by Wyndham Hotels and will be turned into condos starting in November 2008. This is the last year of the hotel. It might have been better back in the day but it needs to remodeled quite a bit.
Only stay here if you're trying to save money and want to stay in "ok" conditions.

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and wanted it to be the best. Even after reading the past reviews of the Hotel, we were very impressed with the service and hospitality of the staff. Our room was very nice, and had a great view of the city, and...
The room was fine and clean. The bed was queen sized and comfortable. There is a refrigerator and in room coffee. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the dining room is very lovely and restful. The valet parking staff was especially courteous and...
Older reviews are no longer accurate. The hotlel has under gone a renovation. Some of the rooms still need some work and are in the process of being remodeled. This is a class place, like being in Paris or Rome.

Horrible
The room was filthy (carpet, walls, furniture). We complained and were shown 2 equally filthy rooms. The internet in the room cost an extra $6.95 per day and we could not stay connected for more than a few minutes at first and then not at all. We...

This hotel is filthy and riddled with pests, we saw rats and bugs. Our bathroom was mildewed and moldy. The waterfall pool they advertise, is filled with algae and is closed, except for the vermin living around it. The lanai is a 15-inch ledge that you can barely stand on. The area is far from the beach, Diamond Head, and any sort of view, unless you like skyscrapers and streets. It is in a noisy section of town. The staff is rude and unhelpful. The furniture in our room was falling apart. The blanket and bedspread on the bed were full of holes. Requests for assistance with luggage were ignored. The lounge is closed. The gift shop does not exist. The website is absolutely misleading, and should be shut down for all the distortions.
We did not dare venture into the restaurants because the room was so dirty. We had no service in our room, even though we were gone for 9 hours. There are no towel bars in the bathroom, and the bathroom door was a plantation shutter. The one pool that is open is tiny and was filled with floating leaves. This place should be closed down. If you read this review and stay there, it's your fault. We tried to get our money back and get back to our first hotel, the Queen Kapiolani (it's great!), but were told that we would not be refunded as we did not give 72 hours cancellation notice. My last vacation was camping in a tent outdoors in Maine, so I'm not a neat freak, but this place is really dirty and no one cares about it or the guests. You are just a dollar sign, and that's the truth.
