My boyfriend and I wanted to stay at a place that would be central to both the village of Bethel and Sunday River. We are used to spending hundreds of dollars for overpriced Bed & Breakfasts.
The truth is you end up skiing all day, going out to dinner, then returning to the B&B to crash in bed - spending a minimum amount of time at the B&B. Sure you get a nice breakfast, but is it worth all that money?
So why spend so much money if you're only using the bed (and getting breakfast)?
If we could get a decent place to stay (I suffer from allergies and can't stand dust, mold, or stuffy places), we would be feeling less guilty about wasting all that money.
We called the Rostay and they were very accommodating for such a last minute booking (call on same-day of travel). Plus the price was unbeatable! And they offered a FULL breakfast!
Well, we were a bit apprehensive that it would be a dump because it was so inexpensive. But to our surprise the room must have been renovated. Everything was new! It was very comfortable, had storage for our ski equipment, a microwave in the room and an awesome selection of videos you could take to your room from the main house. (We watched a Twilight Zone collection after dinner)
Breakfast was at the main house and served by a very nice lady. You can't rush it 'cause she's the only one in the kitchen - so plan to spend at least 30 minutes at the table.
We will definitely be going back, and I will be taking my son and this time I wont forget my bathing suit!
Thanks Rostay!
