Our first room was non smoking- it REAKED of smoke. We were transfered to a new room- the floor had cookie crumbs all over and wasn't very clean. The couple we were traveling with also had to change rooms- the toilet in their first room was broken and they had to switch- just a lame hassle. Beautiful grounds though!
Too big, too expensive long walk from elevator to room. They are not very accomadating or nice when THEY messed up my reservation. I can not recommend Rosen Shingle Creek.
stayed two nights early april 2009. bed is awesome, 24 hour diner downstairs was great. prices are in line with other resorts of this class. staff was friendly, first TV remote didn't work but they brought another in minutes. The 'adults only' pool is quiet and and nice if ya wanna read and nap in the sun.

This is a grossly overpriced unfriendly and terrible place to stay for the expensive pricetag they charge. Every request is a hassle here with a nasty attitude they provide at no extra charge. Everything is way way overpriced even the parking they grab you for. This place is far from the big sites in Orlando.
Yeeech and beware just pass on horrible Rosen Shingle Creek for a cheaper and better place somewhere, anywhere else in Orlando.

This place was beautiful on the outside but the stay was a nightmare. I was charged twice for the room on my Visa. Yes, twice for a 5 night stay at $179.00 a night plus tax. The transaction put my card over the limit and I had to scrimp by the next 5 days on the cash I had on hand. I was stressed out my entire stay. Sure the 2nd transaction was cleared up later but it ruined my entire trip. They wouldn't even give me a voucher to eat at their restaurants or offer any compensation for the blunder. They even charge $8 a day to park your car! Then you have to walk a mile to the hotel. You get that bill at the end of your stay.
I was with a convention during my stay at this hotel. My reservations had been made about 3 mths. in advance. After check-in, I called my card acct. to see what had been taken out. There were outrages charges that had been debited from my acct. No one at the front desk could explain them. My card had about $700 of unexplainable charges. Even their credit dept. couldn't explain it. Got ready to check out and was charged for my car. I was not travelling by car. I don't recommend staying at this hotel, but if you do, don't use a card. PAY WITH CHECK OR CASH ONLY! I am still checking my acct. to this day just to make sure I don't have any charges from this hotel, and my stay was 1 mth. ago.
Stayed for five night in January 08 for a cheerleading competition. I was not impressed. Nice looking facility, nice pools, good golf course. That's all the good though. The reservation had mysteriously been "cancelled". Had to stay in one inadequate room for the night and then switch to another room the next day. The reservation was made months in advance. General restaurant food not outstanding and pricey. Could not make cell phone calls to others without the calls getting dropped constantly (everyone I knew had the same challenge). THIS IS A BIG problem for anyone needing to meet friends, coordinate locations, etc. At the high prices, in room internet is not included and they wanted another $15 a night for it. Parking is outrageous. If you don't pay the hefty valet parking everyday, you get to park a long way away and get your days exercise. Not convenient when towing several children. Timely service and professional staff was hit and miss.
and pay the extra fee for the VIP room, because the awesome tea maker and free soda was way worth it.
I'm a teenager, and there were plenty of things for me to do (without getting in trouble) while my parents were at a convention.
It was really beautiful, and it was HUGE. The only thing is the elevators. Be prepared to run all over the place switching elevators, because not all the elevators go to all the floors. Unless all you have to go to is *your* room, then its not a problem. But I was going around to friends, and up to the VIP room, and often I was wet from the pool (lol) and it was sort of a pain... plus we were always carrying food back to my place and that was a major drag....
BUT. Being there was amazing, and I had a really fun time, the staff was really really REALLY nice. The pools are really beautiful, but the middle of the night is a good time for the hottub (lol) because if you're there for a convention, its probably crowded.
My Parents loved it too, they were at lectures and meetings most of the time, but they enjoyed the large convention space, the friendly staff, and the really nice TV's :D
Also......... sometimes the birdcage in the lobby is unlocked...... *cough*

Just not a place I would return to. It was expensive and not worth the price. The room had a weird smell to it. I could have gotten a much much better deal at many other places in Orlando.
