One of very few reasonably priced hotels in the area. Very clean rooms (but little small).... Excellent customer service.... Awesome pool/hot tub.... Can use better breakfast....

48 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed here 3 nights On July 29,30,31, There was no construction, rooms were clean, staff extremely friendy, eager to help, pool was very warm along with the spa, lot of places walking distance to eat, Only bad thing they are sticklers about checking in at 3:00 no early check ins, continental breakfast sparse but it worked, I would stay here again no problem.

42 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I usually come to Pismo for couple of weekend with my kids. After it became Quality Inn, I stayed there last month (May 20-22, 2008). They have done lot of work in the hotel. I tink everything in room is new. Pool area is renovated and now they serve extensive breakfast. Little more expensive then it used to be but I think it's a good value. I will take my family back there again.

35 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

My husband and I have stayed at the Rose Garden in the past and found it to be an economical, yet substandard place to stay. To it's credit, the pool and jacuzzi are nice and it is in an ideal, central location. However, it has always been run down and unmaintained. The last time we checked in, the place was especially tore up. The pool, spa and office were closed and they were operating out of a motel room. When my husband tried to pay with cash, he was told he needed to provide a "cash deposit." They wanted an extra $100 cash to allow us to pay for the room with cash. (Never heard of that one, but he agreed.) He was not issued a receipt, but was given keys to a room. When we opened the door to that room, it was filled with six or seven people. We went back to the "office" and asked for a receipt and a new room. We were given the keys to a different room, but when we went inside, there were no towels, soap or toilet paper and there was urine in the toilet! We asked for our money back, including our cash deposit, and have never returned.

52 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I formerly stayed here on 4-5 occasions, for the outage work at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant. I always regarded this place as old and dilapidated, but enjoyed the quick freeway access, the fridge and microwave, and the jaccusi with the "waterfalls". The windows frequently had no locks, and when requested, they would give me .25c thumb screw locks. I NEVER would leave anything in the room, that would give me replacement hassle. When you leave, the room, the lock is not a deadbolt, but the common lock your home doorknob has. When you are inside the room, the deadbolt can be activated only then.

If you are on the north facing side, the back of the motel, your view will be of a junkyard, RV storage area....immediantly below you! Yet I put up with this...no more!

I made telephone reservations for the outage March 4,2007. They forgot to mention that the jaccusi, and pool area were closed for construction.

Forgot to tell me the entire pool area, lounges and tables were closed, with construction junk in plain, open, complete eyesore view.

Forgot to tell me that the ENTIRE north section was having major construction being done.

Forgot to inform that the construction contractors would be leaving their garbage all over the north walk ways.

Most importaintly, they forgot to inform me that the entire phone system could not call outside of the motel!

I was greated by the worst stained carpet of my life, a carpet that any business should regard as unfit for use outside of a work shop, the bathroom light fixture, having the bulb dangling, with no facia covering for the fixture, the shower head protuding thru a square cut hole in the drywall, the fire alarm being activated by steam from the shower, and five cigarette holes burned into the bed spread!!!

In spite of all this, they charged me the "Diablo outage rate" of "only" $40.00/night. And had the balls to tell me that the charge to others would be the regular rate of $50.00!

For $25.00, I might have stayed.

I left for another hotel, which was newley renovated, and charged me the same $40.00.

Do you wish to stay here? I used to... and won't again.
