The woman at the front desk was the most miserable person-was not courteous or pleasant at all! The room had no clock, hair dryer, ironing board. The bathroom floor was soaking wet because the base of the toilet was leaking water all over the...
36 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I live in western PA and found myself needing to stay over in Philly for the night. The Roosevelt seemed to be a good deal - adequate parking, wifi, etc. Though a bit concerned due to the web reviews, I found that the room and bathroom were clean, the TV new, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly. In short, a nice stay at quite a reasonable price. I will most definitely stay there again.
My 88 year old father and I arrived around 9:00 PM and were greeted (that's a stretch)...were glared at by the most hostile human being I've ever encountered who was safely sitting behind a bullet proof window! He was nasty, rude,...

Planned to stay four nights, only stayed one. Horrible room, mold on walls and shower curtain. Front desk not helpful at all. Safety also an issue, some very questionable characters in the lobby. Should have known there was a problem, there is glass ...

Horrible
When checking in, there is what appears bullet proof glass in the lobby. The bed had only sheets, when asked for a blanket the front desk said they did not have any. There was mold on the shower curtain. The wallpaper was peeling from the wall and...
I like this hotel because you can come and just relax, away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. No one bothers you and the staff is very nice. The is also a bar on the premises that is open on friday and saturday nights. I've had a...
28 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My husband and three small children checked into this hotel and me first impression walking in the front door was "This is bad." The attendant was behind glass, the lobby stunk and there werent even chairs or anything in the lobby for the guests. After getting to our room I was even more disgusted. The carpet was dirty and wet, there were holes in the ceiling and in the curtains and there was no blankets on the beds; we did however find blankets in the dresser after the front of the drawer fell off. The beds were terrible and I felt like if I used the shower Id be dirtier than I was before I got in. The AC also did not work and June in Philly is not the place to be without AC. in the morning I went to get something to drink from the vending machines with my daughter only to be asked by them what was in that white box, they were condoms, right next to the M&M's. We checked out that morning, our stay that was supposed to last 9 days was a 10hr event. This is not a place for families, or anyone who would like to sleep in a clean, comfortable bed.
GROSS, DON'T GO HERE!!!!

Good
Came in from Los Angeles last weekend - needed an affordable place. All was good. I was wary due to the reviews, but the place worked for me - bed, TV, bathroom, air conditioning - even had a bar open (though it was quiet). Price was good, too...
