First off the staff is not very pleasant - from the gal at the desk to the people working the bar / food area - like they don't even care you are here. Service at the bar was painful - Lifeless, slow and somewhat rude service to be honest. Can anyone there smile? Don't think so... So don't expect to be treated nice, unless maybe you are a local and they know you - I did see them treat the regular barflies a little better - but if you are new here - expect the complete cold shoulder. And trust me - we were nice - we arrived excited and ready to have some fun and catch some fish ... wrong.
Now the promised "great fishing" experience... yeah right. I catch more bass from my dock on my freshwater lake here in Ontario Canada on a bad day of fishing than I did here.
I caught two very small bass right off the hop .. but that was because we were taken to a "sure" spot for catching a couple quickly first thing in the early morning - that clenches the "no fish no fee" guarantee - they get paid now. Now that I have caught these two "small" bass - that was it. My husband caught NOTHING all day and he's an avid fisherman - I caught a sunburn the rest of the day - not even bites. The trip was horrible. They blamed the low water level but I notice on their website they are boasting "water levels are low but the fish catching is high." Yeah right... that's a lie. Friends of ours that came with us but went on a different boat caught a small amount of little fish - but nothing to write home about and again, we catch larger fish right here at home on a bad day of fishing. You could probably catch better fish off a dock somewhere, heck, anywhere for free.
They make you believe that this lake is the best anywhere and that you will be reeling the fish in like crazy and that big ones are an everyday thing - not so... The fishing was pathetic and boring.
Also, the accommodations are not that nice. We got a trailer - the smell outside was like a septic just got cleaned out. The trailer wasn't that nice. Beds were horrible. The grounds are not pleasant to look at and the place seems rundown.
You know, for a so called "famous" place with "famous" fisher people as owners - the place was a complete disappointment from the second we arrived.
When my lousy day of fishing was finally over, I walked quickly to my trailer - packed as fast as I could and drove out of that place vowing NEVER to return.
It was a waste of money - I want my $500 U.S. back and my two days I wasted getting there and back to my nice resort in Orlando, and the night I spent there awaiting my big fishing day ... I want that back too.... - I will NEVER return EVER.
I'm not a hard person to please - but this place was the worst experience I have ever had abroad... I wanted to cry - I think I did.
