35 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This is a nicely situated "inn" in the middle of historic Eureka Springs. I say, "inn" because there only about four rooms in this establishment, sort of like a bed-and-breakfast, but they do not provide breakfast. We chose this "inn" to spend our seventh wedding anniversary. After plumping down $100 to stay mid-week in the off season, we were a bit astonished that we could not eat breakfast and we could not afford to pay $40 for an 8 ounce filet mignon. The restaurant and bar are really top-notch, but the menu prices have increased significantly from the time we ate there in 1999. They wouldn't even provide a discount for people staying there. Cheap! Cheap!

This wasn't the only thing we were disappointed with this establishment. We chose the "Penthouse" a room that you will need to climb four flights of steep stairs and a flash light to find situated on the back side of the place. After locating the pad lock at the bottom of a sliding glass door, we were impressed to see a very large bed with luxurious bedding and a Jacuzzi large enough for three people, but this is where the good impression ended.

The furniture was some sort of miss-matched pieces, for example: For a night stand, we had a tray table that looked like it might have strayed off a Wal-Mart shelf and a bar stool with a couple of holes in the vinyl top. Although we had numerous lighting, some of the light bulbs weren't working. There was a long red couch of vintage Victorian era, a 19" color television and a DVD player. The bathroom was located behind an Oriental screen, which was okay, except it looked almost forgotten. The shower curtain was hideous and although there were two shower heads, the water pressure wasn't adequate to serve one. The toilet was a step up from the shower stall, and a bit awkward to sit on, and the towel bar was broken! But perhaps most disappointing was that they did not service the room during our two night stay. What sort of hotel/inn/motel establishment doesn't even make the beds? Given these sort of details, I couldn't recommend that anyone stay at this place.

I am not likely to return to the Rogue's Manor.
I would not recommend it to friends.
