Rouge is the atmosphere, bathed in reds the lobby was inspired by the great Coco Chanel's residence. A fun, playful chic hotel, Rouge hosts a wine hour for guests to mix and mingle each evening and cold pizza with bloody marys weekend mornings. Looking for a place with personality this is surely it.

The room is large and looks good at first but don't be fooled by the size. The A/C barely worked, half the lights in the bathroom were burned out or broken so you could barely see yourself in the mirror, the bathroom fixtures were broken, the stereo didn't work and the night front desk staff was completely useless when asked a question about extending my stay. There is free internet but it is incredibly slow and the hotel has the fewest number of cable channels I have encountered in a long time. You get a very large, broken down 2-star room at a 4-star price.

Beware! I was double-charged by the hotel. They charged the card they had on file and the card I presented, and weren't even shocked or apologetic when I discovered this error months later! Our non-smoking room had been smoked in, and while the de-smoke machine helped, it didn't really work 100%, so the room still felt and smelled 'dirty'. They have great décor and a nice front desk staff. It's sort of a 2 star hotel pretending to be a 4 star. Oh well!

We took a smoking room this visit and the room was significantly smaller, had a horrible view of a parking lot and due to the fact that we were on the 2nd floor -- we could hear men talking and moving cars, etc. The whole time. At our previous rouge stay.
The rooms are very stylish - the staff is attractive and their uniforms very smart - detailing is modern, bar and food are well thought out and modern.
