Had a reservation for 8-01-08 for four rooms. Cancelled my room at the Bayfront hotel six days before our reservation due to a family emergency. Last week I was shocked to discover they charged my Visa card $883. I called the hotel and reached a heavily accented man who claimed to be the manager. He denied that we cancelled the room. Manager was profane and sounded like he had been drinking. We have contacted Visa, Better Buisness Bureau, and have filed a police report. Beware the Bayfront Motel...!!!!
35 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This was the only room available last weekend in Erie. Next time I will buy a tent from WalMart. We were directed to the back of the motel where there were broken appliances strewn about everywhere. Our door didn't even have a number on it, and it was kicked in and dented all over. Walked in to a face full of spider webs. Spots, stains and burn holes all over the quilt, sheets and bed. THICK LAYER of dust and grease on EVERYTHING. The shower and bathroom were unmentionable. We requested a refund immediately, and were told that since we "used" the room, they were charging a $25 cancellation fee (even though we were in the room for less than 2 minutes). That was fine, I just wanted out of that place. Today, they charged my card for the full amount. When I just called and asked for a manager, the man pretended like he didn't speak English. He finally told me to call back tomorrow. When I asked for the manager's name, he thought about it for a long while, then said "Mike" WHILE LAUGHING. Stay in your car before even considering this place. They should be ashamed of themselves. I should have known better when I saw that the lobby was dirty. It only got worse from there...much, MUCH worse.

Excellent
My 2 daughters and I stayed at the hotel on a very busy Dallas weekend. We were greeted with Sprinkles cupcakes at the reg. desk to celebrate a big football game being played that weekend. The beginning of a great weekend.

The Bay Front Inn, Erie, PA was awful. There was a lingering unpleasant odor in the room. The mattress...what mattress? It was an uncomfortable 4 inch peace of foam...we looked! The service was poor, the beds were never made during our 2 day stay....
