AC didn't work. Fan sounded like helicopter. Tried to complain but room phone didn't work and had to walk downstairs to lobby. Had to choose between desk lamp and plugging in laptop. Was probably a nice place when Wally & the Beav were...
33 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
My wife and I stopped here during a 1800 mile drive home.
I would probably sleep in the car rather than sleep in this hotel again.
The hotel is in a convenient location, right off of I-29. The neighborhood seemed a little old, but looked safe from what little we saw of it.
The desk staff was friendly.
The problems began once we got a room. Despite getting a map, I found the room layout a bit confusing. I got past that and went to the room. I get to the room and through the window, I notice a pile of luggage and there is a do not disturb sign on the door. I was given an occupied room. Despite 100s of nights stayed in hotels for work, this was a first for me.
The problem was corrected and we got a vacant room. The rooms have this huge picture window in the front that faces into the hallway. Despite best efforts, the curtains will still leave a crack where you can see in the room. It could have been only our room, but there was a mirror placed in such a way that if someone peeked into the crack, they could look into the mirror and see the bed.
The room was pretty clean, but overall I felt it was in disrepair. Our toilet fill valve wasn't working right and it would take about 15 minutes for the tank on the toilet to fill. The bathroom had a suspended ceiling that was only about 68" high. The spray from the shower over the years caused the ceiling tiles to mildew. Air vent grates were dirty and bent up. The lights along side the bed turned on and off anytime someone moved in the bed. Overall, the room just looked old.
The doors from the outside to access the rooms were not locked at 11:30 PM at night.
I expected more from a Quality Inn. However, the staff was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms weren't overly dirty. If you are on a budget and don't mind sleeping in an aged room and the potential of being spied on, then this isn't a bad place.
As I said, I expected more from this brand. To do it again, I would have driven a few miles farther south and stayed somewhere else.
THIS PLACE WAS A DUMP. OUR TOILET OVERFLOWE, IT TOOK OVER 2.5 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO COME FIX IT AND THEN THEY DIDN'T CLEAN IT UP. PLACE NEEDS A LOT OF UPDATING. I WOULD NOT TELL ANYONE TO STAY...
worst I've seen in a long time!!

Horrible
We were at the Quality Inn, in Souix City for a wedding. We had several rooms blocked off. It didnt matter what room you were in, the AC didnt work. There were rooms with water leaking from the bathroom ceiling, none of the room keys worked on the...
27 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel was the worst I have ever stayed at. For $60 a night, I was not expecting much, however, even with my lowered expectations I was appalled. Upon opening the door to the room, I was hit by the odor. It was almost enough to make me turn back then and I wish I would have. The smell of the room was a combination of smoke and mustiness (it was a non-smoking room.) As we were traveling, it was three days before the smell of that room was out of my child's blanket. As I tried to turn on the lights, one of the light bulbs was missing from a fixture. That wasn't a big deal. However, as I pulled back the sheets for my daughter to crawl into bed, I was shocked to see dried, watery-blood in the sheets. It wasn't just a little drop either. Upon further inspection, it was found that the sheets hadn't been changed. I was totally grossed out. My husband called for new sheets which were delivered, and we had to change ourselves. We ended up spending the night, however I wish we hadn't. After what I had found, I couldn't sleep because I was entirely grossed out. A word to the wise----nobody should ever stay in this hotel!!!!

Okay
Yes, it's an older hotel under yet another new management and doesn't look all that nice from the outside but I thought it was a good accommodation for the prince. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and furniture was new. Well-lit bathroom,...

Good
Both the bathroom and vanity lights are on the same switch - it would be nice if they could be separated so you don't blind anyone else when needing to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.
