Roberts Mayfair Wyndham Historic Hotel Hotel - Page 1

First, the pros: I was able to get this hotel for $40 for a Saturday night via priceline.com

the cons:

1. Zero parking - had to pay $16 to park in nearby garage

2. 50% of building is surrounded by construction site

3. Staff is NOT knowledgeable...offered no suggestions of where to park, claimed that Union station shops closed at 5 PM (we later found out they were open 'til 9 PM)

4. TV, while a nice flat screen, only picked up 2 channels

5. TV remote batteries were dead, forcing me to flip between my two channels via the front of the TV set

6. No fridge, no microwave

7. Only outdoor pool, not accessible at time of visit (3/30/08)

8. I like my room COLD at night, but NO OPTION to turn on AC as they use forced heating. I almost suffocated.

I would not recommend this hotel...it is a 2 star at best.

I stayed at the Roberts Mayfair in August 2007, it looked like a great place online. Not Quite. The entire floor was under construction, there were black marks over all the walls. The room which we were given was horrible, the room smelled of mildew and there was mold on the floors, and in the tiles of the bathroom. We left the tag out for our room to be serviced, and housekeeping never came. Our last day there, we called down for towels and it literally took over an hour for any to arrive. We were considerably overcharged on my credit card. And now suddenly, in December, they have charged my card AGAIN, while I was in Dallas, TX. They said they would correct it, but have yet to do so. I am reporting them for credit card fraud, and may even try to sue for bank charges that I will be incurring for having to shut my card off and obtain another card. This hotel is the worst of the worst. I would suggest a Motel 6 before this place!!!

There were no microwaves and refrigerators in the room as well as no clocks.

Pros:

1) Very friendly front desk clerk upon check-in.

2) Spa Blue toiletries

Cons:

1) Poor housekeeping - dusty furniture, hair on bathroom floors, debris on carpet

2) Fitness center - not secure, dirty

3) Hotel not adequately maintained.

The staff was incompetent. We were put into three different rooms. One had somebody already in it and the other was smaller that the room we had reserved.
