We visited to LasVegas for memorial day 2008 and we have a worst exp. with this hotel. We booked the non-smoking room through Lasvegas.com site, and when we reached there, the hotel staff told us that we r late(Bcoz of traffic through Hoover Dam) and the room we already booked was pre-occupied, and she was very unpolite. Atlast they assingned us a room, we r relieved and went to see the room. We noticed that it was a smoking room and the room was not at all clean and very disgusting. When we went back and reported her, she told us that the only room available was the room assigned to us and they r not at all responsible for anything at all.We r very diappointed . Later we went to JockeyClub hotel which is 3 miles away from Riviera. Eventhough it doesn't have a Casino, it is the best hotel with polite staff and very clean rooms. I never would like to recomend Riviera to anyone.

I am not likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

We stayed at the Riviera in September of 2007 when we traveled to Las Vegas to get married. All of our guests' rooms were booked seperately thru various online travel websites, yet when we all arrived on different days even!) the clerks (more than one) tried their best to get us all into rooms close to each toher - my maid of honor ended up in the room next to us! Always clean, loose slots (I've stayed at the Riv 7 times now over the last 6 years or so) friendly staff. Food quality is average at best but you get what you pay for and I think their prices well match the quality. My only complaint is that it seems as though the comps and room specials I've received as part of the Player's Club have dminished over the last few years. All in all, though, we love the Riv, though it's far down one end of the strip, there are so many transportation options that it's not a problem, and we always get our money's worth there!

I am very likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I always enjoy staying at the "Riv". My room has always been clean and ready for me when I check in at the VIP area (complements of players card). The food at the Ristorante Italiano is fantastic! The dover sole is to die for and the service is outstanding. When I return in eight days I will eat dinner at this restaurant every night. I enjoy the breakfast at Kady's however, I really did have the best breakfast ever at the Peppermill (I think that is the name). Jitters will make you cup-a-joe as you like just be sure you let them know that four shots of espresso in one cup of cappachino is a wee bit much.

Besides having the best machines on the strip - lots of slots-I have the best luck here. My last trip I won over ten thousand dollars just on slots! I also have a great time at the tables. The dealers at any table are always willing to help me if I am new at a game.

The players club rocks! I reluctantly signed up the first time I was there (thinking it was a waste of time) and it has been the greatest! I receive invitations to slot tournaments and special events all the time. I enjoy playing in their FREE slot tournaments and winning free money. FYI I must be lucky because I have won money every single time I enter a tournament! With my card I get free limo service, hotel room/suite, food, three times cash back, turn down service and complimentary spa robes, comp on any of their shows and my airfare has also been paid. Not bad HUH? You must be thinking I am a high roller but I am just your average player!

I thought I was missing something by not staying at the newer hotels. So one day I ventured over to the Wynn hotel just to see what it was like. Oh my it was gorgeous however, when I put $100 in a slot machine and did not even win five bucks I was pretty annoyed. So I put another hundred and guess what NOTHING but a free buffet. I don't know about you but I am not there to eat - I want to play! Also try and get a waitress at the Wynn I almost died of dehydration before I walked over to the waitress to get my bottled water.

I feel the most important thing is to feel safe and secure when gambling. The Riv has plenty of security and if someone is bothering me I just push the change button on the machine and within minutes I have assistance.

This really is a great place.

30 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

I had been planning a trip to Vegas for over 6 months and frequently visited this and many other travel websites to get a preview of what was in store for me and my stay at the Riv. I read many headlines that talked about bedbugs, poor service, maids stealing personal property, etc. and quite frankly I was a little concerned.

Other than being a bit too far north of the main strip area(ride the Duece on an all-day pass for 5 bucks and you'll be at the center of the strip in 10 minutes though), we had no complaints about the Riv.

HOTEL ROOM- nothing fancy schmancy- but it was roomy enough, clean, and more than adequate for 2 people. Its not the Venetian or Mandalay Bay, but if you're looking for that, youre probably not on this website anyways. Our room did have an iron and hair dryer, but no safe or coffee maker. Beds and pillows standard hotel issue. The shower-head in the shower was a little flimsy and sometimes you had to move it around with your hand to get it aimed properly, but other than that, no problems.

FOOD- only meal I had there was breakfast(3 times); once at the Buffet, once at Kadys coffee shop and once at Kristofers continental. Probably the only low point of the Riv here. Food is of average quality at best. Buffet had a pretty good selection, but taste and quality were a little lacking. Kadys also had a decent selection, but was way overpriced for what basically is typical diner fare. Probably wont eat there if we stay again.

CASINO- we played a little in pretty much every casino up and down the strip. Read this....The Riviera has the loosest slots in Las Vegas, period. Not up on Fremont Street, not down South on the strip, at the Riv ! My girlfriend and I cleaned up on slots all 3 nights we stopped in the casino. Table games usually start around $10 minimums; a few 5 dollar minimum roulette tables around also. Lots of people say the Riv's casino is outdated, crowd is too old and not hip enough, etc.. Well again, if you want the glitz and glam go to Mandalay Bay; if you want a decent shot at winning some money, go to the Riv. Incidentally a bottle of beer (Bud Light) at the Riv was about $3.25; same bottle of beer was $5.50 at the Mirage and $6.25 at the Venetian.

In review- its a hotel; its not a dump or a hole, and its not luxury suites or penthouses. If you want budget lodging and a decent place to stay on the North strip, book a room at the Riv. Its classic old-school Vegas; by the way their multi-million dollar renovation is underway so it is getting a facelift as I speak. If you're looking for the trendy, swank , "beautiful people" place to stay, then youre probably on the wrong website anyways.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
I might recommend it to friends.

The Riviera Hotel and Casino is a nice place to stay in Las Vegas. You get a good deal for the price of the stay. Everyone is very friendly. They have a nice pool and the World's Fair Buffet is worth a try. They make the best omelets. There is a Pearl Fac

I was told that the Riviera would be old, outdated and not a good place to stay. Much to my surprise these comments were totally incorrect

Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised at the condition the hotel was in. Outdated? Not here. Checking in I was greeted by a gentleman who answered my questions. Once I reached my room I was grinning from ear to ear....it was clean, spacious and anything but outdated! I had a wonderful stay. My reservations were last which allowed me to reunite with my parents and sister and her husband. I would definitely recommend the Rivera to anyone visiting Las Vegas and will certainly stay there again!

Hated everything. Check in very slow, rooms old and smelly, the cashier in the casino was rude. One even told me I didn't have to go there. Very smart alecky. Kept getting shocked every time I played a slot machine. I changed shoes 3 times. Slot attendant told me it was my shoes. Others got shocked too. I have been to many casinos and never had this happen. Waitresses not too clean cut. Slot attendants not friendly. Rip off for the 40.00 dollar slot money for 20.00 from the coupon offered. Very tight slots. Rooms need severely updated. Didn't meet one nice person there. I will never go back. I would rather stay on the street (literally).

The hotel staff are very friendly and that is why we stay at the Riviera every time we go to Vegas. Kady's coffee shop is a great place to eat and the waitresses and waiters are very friendly and patient. I especially enjoy the T- bone steak dinner and the crab legs. It is unfortunate that there are people that do not like the Riviera. I am 67 yrs old and the Riv has got everything I need.

My wife and I go to Las Vegas two times per year. We always stay at The Riviera hotel. We are very familiar with the hotel and the amenities. Our rooms are either complimentary or discounted because of our gambling.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: We are very familiar with the hotel and the casino. We can find our way around and we find each other when we are there.

The hotel was a nice economic friendly hotel. It had the necessary amenities. The only downside was the distance from most of the action on the Strip and the need for some updates. Otherwise, we had a great stay and we would return again.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The Riviera hotel offered the ability to easily go between the pool and the inside activities. This made the client feel comfortable, with no need to be extravagant. They also accommodate to all levels of society and they never make any person feel inferior.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.

I enjoyed my stay at the Riviera hotel. It was easy to get around. It was close enough to other hotels that we could easily hook up with the monorail or the bus. When taking cabs, the staff was very helpful.

This hotel made me feel welcome: They were very helpful at check in. I had to go to the concierge desk for additional info about the hotel, but they were very informative.

This was to be our long awaited for Vegas vacation. We were attending a convention held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. We were very disappointed.

The staff was incredibly rude, and a waiter that works in Kady's coffeehouse, who literally threw the food on the table and never spoke to us. I was traveling with a companion who uses a wheelchair and we had a slot attendant literally yell at us when I moved a chair so my friend could wheel up to a slot machine.

The place was sleazy and dirty. The food was horrible and overpriced, like $11.99 for a hamburger that was so greasy that I had to go to the room and throw up after eating it. It was the worse vacation experience ever. We saved for a year for this trip. There was no customer service at all, I felt ripped off at every turn. Very poor security. There was a huge fight in the middle of the night in the room next to ours with much loud yelling and throwing of things. We called security and they never came.

They have this promotion called buy $20 and get $40, don't do this, it is a rip off. You can't win on the slot machines they have for this. You literally can't. They won’t pay you, instead after you have played out your money they give you a cheap "prize”, like a trinket picture frame. They push this hard and have people on the floor soliciting you for this. It was an all around bad experience. They act like they not only don't care about the guests, but that they literally hate the guests.

It was definitely a "Leave your money, but we want nothing to do with you." atmosphere. I would never go back there and would encourage anyone reading this to not waste your time and money going there. If you want to stay on the strip, go to one of the nicer hotel/casinos. Or better yet, go to one of the many Indian casinos located throughout the country. We have had much nicer experiences with them. This place was a dive, a rip-off and a big waste of money. We were seriously disappointed.

I am not likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Really the only choice of hotel if you want to participate in the annual pool and chess tournaments.

Staff was below average. Checking in was fine, but somehow later someone else also got assigned to our room and walked in (using his own room key for our room!). Apparently, somehow the hotel management managed to assign him to the same room that we were staying. It was quite disturbing knowing that someone could walk into our room that easily. Also, housekeeping woke us up at 9 AM. Who staying in Las Vegas wakes up that early?

The pool is a fairly large size. Major complaint it that it closes way too early.

Value is good, good choice of games in casino. Rooms were tidy and clean, although styling seems to be a bit out of today's fashion.

I am not likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
