with a budget, traveling for leisure

Prime example of economic troubles in Vegas. The "Riv" has laid off at least half the staff, no exageration. Check-in is a joke. Its like the place is hanging on for dear life. Be sure to ask for one of the renovated rooms - they are a good value for the rates you can get. Weak 3 star.

with a budget, traveling for leisure

I chose this hotel for the pool (great! heated), for the internet (excruciatingly slow), for the location (strip, across Circus Circus, right on the Duece line) and for the price (40$ a night for 6 nights, best deal).

Having read the reviews I was wary. But the room was HUGE. Nothing was taped, nothing was broken, nothing was noisy. Great! I will definitely stay ther again.

with a budget, traveling for leisure

I brought my son down for his 21st birthday. (I'd stayed here before) The refurbished room was a nice improvement, though it could still use some more work. (loud airconditioner & bath door chipping/peeling) Kaady's coffee shop was a bit of a disappointment. Food was o.k. but service was slow & not very friendly. Check-in went well & the lady was very pleasant & helpful . If you're playing video poker at the bar, the drinks are not free. Discounted-maybe. ($1.50 for a bottle of beer) After visiting several other casinos on the strip, my son said he was the most comfortable here. The "duece" bus stopped right outside-northbound, and just across the street-southbound. The cocktail waitresses came by fairly often when I was playing the video poker machines. I was'nt very impressed with the food court.

I am very likely to return to the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

39 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This hotel experience was the worst I have ever seen! I go to vegas about 10 times a year. The parking situation was horrendous. The parking structure elevators were broken often (in 100 degree heat), the room was very poor, with torn wallpaper and blue masking tape everywhere. This was supposed to be a newly remodeled room. The worst thing was the pounding construction on our last morning. When I called the front desk I could get no answers. I went to the front desk, with a bunchof other angry, tired people and was told that the could do nothing for us. I would think that they knew the constuction was happening and they could have warned us or put us in a diferent part of the hotel. I blame the management for our poor experience.

49 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business

We were booked in the older part of the hotel. The beds are very hard. We came home tonight to find a huge - At least an inch (large cockroach - not sure the size) cockroach in our bathroom. I have never seen that size of cockroach. YUCK! I have traveled many places and this is the first time I have ever found a cockroach in a motel room. We have even stayed at cheaper hotels and never had problems with bugs. I too was worried about bed bugs after reading the reviews. Luckily no bed bugs so far but cockroaches. GROSS!
