We stayed here on July 15, 2006. The room was very spacious and clean. We asked for a non-smoking, but non-available. They ozoned the room, but there was still a tinge of smoke. It was in walking distance to the Alamo, if you like to walk. The trolley was very close so I suggest you use that. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel parking is across the street on their own lot. Cost was only $6/day. Not sure about a fitness room. Loved the idea that it used to be a jail. Bars still on some of the windows for decor.
