64 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I hated...upon checking in having to pay $75. for an upgrade to a one bedroom; because R C I had us listed as a Studio -- our home resort is Divi Aruba. Our home Studio is one HUGE room with a queen bed, full kitchen, sofa, chairs etc. with a balcony facing the Caribbean Sea. A studio at Riverview is a TINY room with a Murphy Bed. The room is so small the Murphy Bed must be in the up position for anyone to walk around.
We were touring off season, which should have been a wonderful time on the Cape. However, to access the resort one had to drive through a marina. All of their boats were out of the water and shrink wrapped for the winter.
There was evidence of construction/renovation/repair work: scaffolding blocking sliding doors and parking lot taped off areas. I understand this work has to be sometime, and off season is the best time. However, warn potential visitors, and do not demand an upgrade fee.
All of this would have been inconsequential, if the $75. upgrade fee would have been waived.
No written response was received from an evaluation that requested a written response.
R C I has not inspected/reviewed this property since 1997.
