Pool okay for kids, but overcrowded and small for the amount of people

Noisy due to downtown location

Only 1 restaurant on site other than cafeteria service

Okay tourism office for day trips

Very stict rules on basic things - pool towels, phone, tv remotes

Room clean, the rest of the hotel optional

This was our honeymoon so when we booked a stay at "The Ritz" for 9 days, we thought we were getting a great deal at $290 a night...Wrong! This hotel was all inclusive but was focused on the Mexican culture, only a few members of the staff could speak English and the "amenities" they speak of (kayaking, water polo, volleyball, theatre entertainment, karaoke, etc) was all in spanish - how in the world do you have American guests at your hotel but not give them at least one thing we could do. All excursions was done all on our own by seeing things along the way in the taxi's. (Which those are small, hot and cheap) Even the guest services host could not help us because her English was so poor. I will never return to this hotel, I was disappointed as soon as I walked in the room (which is bad for a honeymoon) and the biggest smile I had was leaving in the elevator 9 days later!!! Do Not Go Here - opt for The Hyatt, Group Mayan, Sea Garden or La Princess Diana.
