Considered a Kyoto classic hotel since its opening in 1969, Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto has been noted for its modern rendition of traditional Japanese architecture. Also, it is the only property in the city with a revolving restaurant. A formal restaurant, Top of Kyoto is on the 14th floor and specializes in French cuisine. Corbeille is a casual Western style restaurant and Aoi offers Japanese cuisine, including teppanyaki flat grilled meats and seafood. Room service is available from early morning to late night. Staff is very friendly. Located only a few blocks from train station, bus stops and subways. A shuttle bus gets you there in about 5 minutes. Plenty to see and do in the area and the transportation (train, bus, subway) makes it easy to get around...

Vwery comfortable, international hotel, with very little to mark it as "Japanese". Nothing wrong with it, but we prefer to stay in Ryokan style places with futons etc.
A great hotel on our first visit to Japan. We loved the service, breakfast included at a choice of 3 restaurants. Brekfast views from the top floor revolving restaurant were great. staff very helpful and wouldn't let you carry your own bags like ...
