ResortQuest Waikiki Sunset Resort

The floors and carpets were dirty.

The kitchen was not equipped. There was not sink stopper and we purchased cooking utensils.

Maids did not knock. Sometimes they did not clean the bathroom or bring clean towels. The tub stopper laid on the floor.

The bed was 2 twin beds pushed and wire-tied together. The crack between the matresses was covered with a convoluted matress pad.

There was mold in the bathroom. There was also mold on the ceiling in the sauna and the 6th floor men's room.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. So dirty, greasy and grimy that I had to wash the floors and walls myself. My husband and I had to sleep on the pull-out as there was only one tv (in the livingroom). As a result we had to put our children to bed in the bedroom. My husband and I were nearly crippled from our aching backs due to the bad pull-out. Good things it had a kitchen that you didn't want to turn cups over on the shelf and the pool was not bad.

we actually checked out and went to another hotel - so not what it looks like on the internet - to have spent 10 days in that room would have ruined our vacation

If you are only interested in running around in Honolulu and not concerned about your room, you will probably like the location of this hotel. You are just a few blocks from the International Market and Waikiki beach.

If you want a clean room with friendly customer service, I advise you to consider another hotel. We were appalled at the filthy, broken down furniture, rag-tag bed spreads, windows that leaked and howled, etc. The rooms were very tiny and cramped. The carpets should have been replaced 10 years ago. The bathroom was a maze of caulking, but it leaked everywhere anyway. The elevators stuck half the time. The front desk personnel was rude and unhelpful; however the lady who helped with dinner directions was polite and helpful.

We had ocean view rooms, which meant we could lean out over our lanai and see some of the ocean; otherwise, we could see the ocean from our tiny, cramped, smelly bedrooms - of course, the windows in the bedrooms would not open. We could see Diamond Head clearly from our lanai. I will never stay at this hotel again.

We were at the Resortquest Waikiki Sunset for Christmas of 2004 and we loved it there, so much in fact we are returning again this Christmas.

We were there for twelve days and the only thing that we found were that sometimes the elevators were a bit congested, but other then that it was great.
