The best part of the hotel is that there's a Tim Hortons downstairs. Aside from that, the hotel itself is in desperate need of updating! I've stayed there twice and the rooms could use new mattresses (especially the sleeper sofas which have the thinnest mattresses you can imagine) and new linens. Decor is drab and TV is way too small for the room. The kitchen is small and boxy but does the job when you need to re-heat food or store items in the fridge. I travel extensively for business and this Residence Inn is definitely not up to standards of some other great Marriott properties.
I found the staff to be indifferent and more interested in their own conversations than seeing to the needs of, or conversing with their guests. They don't really seem to care whether you enjoyed your stay or not and do not go out of their way to welcome you.
Breakfast is your typical hot hotel breakfast... nothing special but better than nothing.
Parking can be tricky if you have a large SUV or minivan and is overpriced, however you don't really have much of a choice.
The walk to Parliament Hill is actually pretty decent, just a few blocks and you're there. There are many better hotels in the area, just have to be able to find yourself a good deal.
