Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown Tampa Hotel - Page 1

I have stayed in this hotel numerous times and find it the best place to stay when traveling with my family. We typically book the two bedroom suite which offers two master bedrooms, a kitchen, living room with gas fireplace, three TV's and excellent high speed connections.

The staff has always been very courteous and our stay has always been comfortable. The hotel is located very near Ybor City and the shuttle drivers provide pick-up and drop off services there.

A nice breakfast is provided daily and the lobby area provides a nice, if somewhat small, area for meeting up with clients.

Parking is a bit of an issue, so if you drive a car here, be prepared for some difficulty. Parking provided (for a fee) is in a gated lot across the street from the hotel and gets full very quickly. Cars are often double parked. On street parking is available very nearby but certianly less safe than a monitored lot.

There was a hole in the wall made by the doorknob of the bathroom door. This was part of a block of rooms reserved for a wedding. I was quoted a price of a hundred and nine dollars a night on the phone, but after arrival discovered I was charged a hundred and twenty-nine dollars for the first night.

The staff was not helpful, they were very rude.

The hotel's location is ideal for restaurants, bars, and sporting events. Service was friendly and efficient. The amenities was numerous. I would stay there again any time I am in Tampa.

I love the location of this Residence Inn since it is so close to Ybor City. I do not go there as a tourist so I have no advice for them except to try to use the Marriott shuttle while it is running to take you places to save the driving or cab money.
