Location:
Great! Within walking distance from the Train and Bus stations. Just a couple of blocks from the downtown core of London, it’s only a block away from the major downtown hotels like the Hilton and Delta. Far enough to not hear the traffic, close enough to walk. 2 convenience stores nearby, not to mention the galleria & market within walking distance.
Rooms:
*Very* spacious. The standard room we stayed in was easily the size of junior suites at other hotels. The building is a former apartment complex, so each room is essentially a one bedroom bachelor apartment. Kitchen has a stove, full fridge, microwave, dishwasher, plates, pots and pans. Living area has a table & sofas, and there is another table for eating as well. Closet space is ample, with 2 full size closets.
Amenities:
All rooms include: Free wireless internet access, hot buffet breakfast in a cozy fireplace lounge … and cookies at the front desk. There is also a grocery delivery service which we didn’t get to try, but it seems like you just write down what you want and the staff will go pick it up for you.
The price was well below anything at the Hilton-type hotels, and given its location, you’re also saving the taxi/gas fares if you stayed at the cheaper hotels farther away from downtown. If you want the convenience of being able to cook your own food, or having more than a bar-fridge to store your food, this is perfect. There’s no pool/gym, but then again, London isn’t a resort town. If you want a full service hotel with room service, restaurant, etc, then this isn’t your place. But if you want a great price for a spacious, clean, apartment-style room, this place gets my vote!
