Residence Inn Vancouver Downtown Hotel - Page 1

This first night we arrived in Vancouver we stayed here. It was late, so we didn't get a chance to utilize any of the facilities, but the lobby was decent. Staff were pretty helpful and somewhat pleasant.

Our room had 2 queen beds and a large sitting area with sofas, kitchenette and a desk. It was really like an apartment. Bathroom was large and well stocked (except there was a bottle of mouthwash that appeared to have been used already--it was too late to bother saying anything). Travelling with 2 small kids I really appreciated the size of the room.

That night my husband went down to the restaurant for a late-nite snack. He ordered chicken wings and stood around for more than half an hour when they told him they forgot about him!! Anyway, by the time he got the food it was so late. I forced myself to try a couple since all I wanted to do was sleep, but I must say for the price they were tasty.

Breakfast was complimentary and was decent. The selection was not bad, but some hot items tasted a bit cold and as if they had been sitting there for a while (but what can you expect for free). The clientele seemed a bit snotty. Compared to our stay at the Westin Bayshore for the rest of our trip you would think it would have been the reverse since people are paying more, but I didn't find this to be the case.

Anyway, overall the room was an excellent size and the beds were also very comfortable. You are right downtown and walking distance to shopping and other attractions. But if I had to pick again I think I would definitely choose the Westin Bayshore over this one. If price is your deciding factor though, then this is a really good choice.
