We travel often, but don't have a budget for 5 star hotels. However, we do enjoy suite hotels for the extra space they provide. At this hotel the bed was very comfortable and there is a nice sitting area with a decent kitchen. While there...

Okay
we've stayed at this hotel before and liked it, however, this stay may be our last as the attention to detail that is the mark of marriott hotels was missing. Minor details, like having to do with cleaning of the room (as one example we found...
Unfortunately, the Residence Inn in Brandenton/Sarasota seems to have been on quite the downhill slide lately. I stayed here last summer and enjoyed my stay, but this summer has been an entirely different story. From a front-desk employee who...
23 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
For the money, you can do much better than this Residence Inn. The rooms are looking pretty old and well worn. The furniture has seen better days and the refrigerator in my room made so many creaking noises in its old age that it would keep me up at night.
During my stay, I was checked out of my room prematurely (twice), my room flooded (twice), they lost my billing information (twice), and the drains in my room smelled as though something had died in them (every day). All in all, it added up to a less than impressive stay.
The staff, on the whole, was very friendly and helpful. However, beware of one front-desk staffer who puts his smoke breaks and cell phone conversations before the guests. When you've been driving for 12 hours and have to wait around for 10 minutes for him to even show up at the front desk, it's hard not to be a bit peeved.
Save your money and stay somewhere else. You can do much better than the Residence Inn. A year ago I would have recommended it, but can't even bring myself to give it an adequate rating now. There's plenty of better places to stay in Sarasota, so don't make the mistake of settling for this Residence Inn.
