I am currently towards the end of a long term stay and have met other guests who are using this as their home base for business, as a less expensive alternative to a stay in Washington DC, or as way-station until their move is in order. It's a perfect place for any need. Kid friendly, pet friendly, singleton friendly.
The hotel is extremely clean and homelike. The staff is courteous. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful, with healthy options available. Monday-Thursday in the early evening some type of complimentary snack or light meal is served. People gather in the lobby to socialize -- it's that kind of place.
Albeit small, there is an indoor pool, lit half-court (outdoor - basketball), and work-out facility. Four washers and eight dryers. It's across the street from a Target and close to restaurants, movie theater and large outlet mall. So, you are well situated. If need be, there is a 24 hr animal hospital within a few blocks (Woodbridge Animal Hospital, Caton Mill Rd) and for humans there is Potomac Hospital (Opitz Blvd, about 2 miles).
The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with desk, sofa, chairs, bar stools, dishwasher, microwave, two burner stove, full size fridge.
Yes, you might run out of dish soap -- supply and demand, some people run their dishwashers a few times a day. But, all you have to do is ask.
A few days ago ground broke for a new Marriott immediately to the rear, so there is potential for being disturbed if on that side of the building. Limited parking space is workable if you park in the adjacent strip mall.
Military rates are rarely available -- an issue the manager MUST work on as there are two bases in the immediate area. With the Pentagon, Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospital up the road. It just makes good business sense, and it's simply the right thing to do.
Work on that, Mr. Weller, and I'll come back here and rate you a '9'.
While you are at it... arrange for more plentiful housekeeping supplies and better maintain the 'doggy' bags.
