We had date confirmation in writing but told that their computer had us for another date. Waited at counter for an hour as clerk found us a room 20 minutes out of city. 4 taxi rides back and forth at OUR expense. Would have stayed at cheap airport hotel for this nightmare!

Excellent
The hotel is located two blocks from the Inner Harbor. A great location!!!! Our two bedroom two bathroom suite was large and comfortable. The hotel staff is very friendly. Valet parking is a must!! Drawback, no swimming pool. But as they say,...

This hotel is above average for a Residence Inn.
The staff for the most part is well above average, except for the conference sales staff, who seems to be more interested in rubbing it in that a particular customer did not purchase options such as snacks, etc. instead of taking advantage of an opportunity to make money. I went to teach a class for a customer, who does business with the Residence Inn regularly, but never buys snacks for the students. Instead of giving me the opportunity of purchasing the snacks, she read me a list of all the warnings about students not using the breakfast room, not bringing any food whatsoever because the hotel does catering, etc. It was a complete turnoff. I bought some donuts anyway as a gift for my students and she got on my case in front of the students, looking like a fool in front of them for doing so, and this is not a small customer, it's a worldwide bank!
What made up for this shortcoming was the rest of the staff, who went well out of their way to make me feel welcome. It's the only reason I would come back to the hotel, and the only reason they salvaged a poor review and converted into a good one. So, I guess the conclusion is that it's a great place to stay, very centrally located, close to everything in the beautiful Inner Harbor area, but not a good place to have conferences or meetings.
