The Powell Street cable car stop is located two blocks away. Hotel Features. A marble rose-hued entryway leads to the lobby where chandeliers and gilt-painted columns evoke an international feel. Neptalia serves Italian-American cuisine daily from morning to night. Etiquette Lounge is an edgy, urban-style bar designed with intimate alcoves dressed in black vinyl with stark white wood accents. San Francisco DJs and live bands perform on a regular basis. This smoke-free hotel offers two Internet kiosks. Guestrooms. This seven-story hotel offers 135 guestrooms with dark-toned furnishings and warm-colored wall and fabric hues. Accommodations include complimentary laptop-compatible in-room safes and satellite television. Refrigerators are available for a fee, on request. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee. The hotel is located on the edge of the Tenderloin and is surrounded, 24 hours a day, by hords homeless and beggers. My wife and kids were afraid to venture out at night to walk to eat or go out to sightsee. Hotel was nice, but the location is...

An old, worn-out hotel with cramped rooms that are remarkably CLEAN. Convenient location except for the dozens of vagrants, homeless, etc. shuffling around the outside. Not dangerous just unsettling, which is sad considering how close it is to Civic ...

Really beautiful old 1900s hotel. Rooms were a bit run down, and beds a little too firm. Very noisy street below, hard to sleep, also quite drafty, but had steam heat radiators that clank all night long.

This hotel is right on Market Street and just across the street from the Civic Center BART station. Very convenient. Except for the strip club across the street and the three+ blocks of homeless and druggies you have to walk to get to Union Square....
