It was a wonderful historic building and my stay was comfortable. The catered food at the conference I attended was excellent! I very much enjoyed the pool at night; the lighting was perfect, and I got to watch the stars and a lightning storm. However, I do wish it was just a little bit larger for swimming. My only real issue was with the check-in process; it was neither efficient nor customer-friendly. I used my debit card and was informed that I might see duplicate authorizations on my account upon check-out. I had to have a manager come and finalize my sale at check-in to avoid this. Then, it was very strange, but the transaction did not settle on my account until a week later.
This hotel made me feel relaxed: It was right on the waterfront, at the end of a grassy boulevard. The beach and surrounding neighborhood made an excellent course for an evening run, and upon returning, I showered and entered the pool, which featured a fountain and warm, soft water. The pool was open to the night sky, so I watched the stars and an approaching thunderstorm. I'd never seen such a wonder! When it came close enough, the hotel staff called us out of the pool. I showered, changed, and walked around the building until I ran into someone I knew on the front patio. We sat outside talking for a long time, and then I went to my room and fell fast asleep.
