Striving for Mediocrity. Recently stayed a week at the Marriot Renaissance in St. Louis, MO. I will admit that it is convenient to the convention center. I was very disappointed in the beds as they are very uncomfortable. Room service was quite poor with one order never even showing up although I was assured that it would be up shortly. The sunday brunch at the Renaissance Suites bistro (across the street) was also poor and the serving area filthy. It has the potential to be a great place but not on the week that I had stayed.

I am not likely to return to the Renaissance St Louis Grand and Suites.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I like this hotel. If you are attending an event at the America's Center, there is no better place to stay.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The bed is awesome. I liked the bathroom and the Lather brand of products.

I was in walking distance to most locations in St Louis.

When in town you must eat at Charlie Gitto's. Only a 5 minute walk to a fantastic lunch or dinner.

If you need a good haircut while visiting try Pete at the Executive Salon @ 7th and Olive. (5 min walk) I needed a haircut bad while visiting and I was nervous to try someone new. He did a good job.

The location was great. It was close to all the things I like to do in St Louis. I like that it is within walking distance of a lot of things to do. This is a good hotel if you like to go to the baseball games.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: I was not feeling well and the bed and the room just made things seem a little bit better because I was comfortable in the bed and the room was nice.

I am very likely to return to the Renaissance St Louis Grand and Suites.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The room was clean, modern and attractive. The bedding and the pillows were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was in a beautiful location in downtown St Louis. I would stay there again and I would recommend it to a friend.

This hotel made me feel pampered: The staff treated us like we were important guests. The hotel was much fancier than I expected, especially for the price I paid.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Renaissance St Louis Grand and Suites.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

From the moment I arrived until my departure, I was continually surprised by the fantastic service that I received. I had read some on-line reviews prior to my arrival and was expecting to encounter snobby or rude staff members. On the contrary, everyone I met, from the front desk to the cleaning staff, to the restaurant staff, was friendly and offered great service. I was exhibiting at a convention across the street and encountered some issues with my return shipments. The Renaissance even stepped in and quickly helped me resolve the issues. They truly went over and above expectation. In addition, the room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely return to this property and highly recommend it to everyone.

I loved the art in the hallways. I loved that it has historical elements. It feels a bit dark as you come in. It has narrow side doors across to the convention center.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The rooms were convenient and easy to reach. The layout of the room was nice. The floors were quiet, which was nice. It was close to my conference, and that was nice.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Renaissance St Louis Grand and Suites.
I might recommend it to friends.

This hotel is a good choice for a convention at the St. Louis Convention Center. It is conveniently located and has a nice lobby and rooms. The service in the restaurant was a little disorganized but otherwise I was pleased with my stay.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The rooms are comfortable. The pool was good for a break from the conference.

It had good food, although the toaster was old fashioned and unusable. The pool and hot tub were enjoyable, but needed more towels. The beds were cozy. The woman at the front desk needed to be more knowledgeable regarding city activities and there should have been flyers and coupons available.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The beds were puffy and cozy. There was plenty of space in the room I shared with my son and granddaughter. The shower was nice as was the soap and other items.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Renaissance St Louis Grand and Suites.

It has a good downtown location, but there was a street closed that made it difficult to get to the parking. It had a nice comfortable fold out couch bed.

The people at the reservation desk seemed preoccupied and rude. Instead of being helpful they appeared to delight in being contentious and arrogant. I'm also very upset with the new non-smoking policy. Surely smokers could be given some area inside the facility to enjoy a smoke. This all or nothing attitude will most likely lead me to take my business elsewhere. I don't like being made to feel like a pariah when it's obvious you don't have any problem taking my money.

It’s on the high end. It’s decorated old fashioned and I prefer more modern. The pool had too many children and not enough towels. The food was good, I ate breakfast there, although the toaster was real old and didn’t work. The bed was very comfortable. The concierge was not real knowledgeable about the town’s activities. It was centrally located to all we wanted to see.

Overall, the hotel was excellent. My only complaint was that on two or three occasions my room key stopped working and I had to go back down to the front desk to get it corrected. This was frustrating especially since the hotel was very busy and it took a while to wait for the elevators.

I am very likely to return to the Renaissance St Louis Grand and Suites.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

It was great to be right across the street from the conference center. The hotel bar and restaurant coffee shop were all expensive and there were not very many less expensive options around the convention center.

This hotel made me feel practical: The rate we were charged, because of our organization's deal, was a lot less than the published rate for the hotel.
