My room was very comfortable. The staff was eager to please and went overboard to help. I only had two problems. I requested a microwave and or a fridge and they had them all in use so I did not get one. And they charged way too much for Internet access in the room for web television. But they do not charge if I had a laptop, which I did not bring along.

Overall I enjoyed the stay. It was very clean and had an old high-class feeling to it.

This hotel made me feel excited: It was neat to stay downtown Des Moines in a slightly upscale hotel, at least compared to motels like a motel six.

It was in Mid-town and conveniently located. The parking building was across the street.

The hotel is well located in the city. It's well restored and nicely appointed. I like the friendly staff and the clean room. I also appreciate the good restaurant and the easy parking nearby.

This is the first time that I have stayed here. The staff was amazing. I got a room that was not remodeled, but I was still impressed with the hotel. I will stay here again.

This hotel made me feel welcome: When they were asked for directions to a local eatery, they went out of their way to make sure we knew where we were going. After we returned they wanted to know if we had found it, and the quality of our meal. I was impressed that they actually took the time to ask later.

We were in town to attend a concert, the hotel's proximity and access to the skywalk system aided our decision. We were not familiar with the location and felt that the hotel was difficult to find.

I was really impressed and satisfied with the size of the room, the cleanliness, and the service we encountered with the room service staff.

The hotel staff was absolutely wonderful! I feel better knowing that there is still some proper customer service in this world. The room was wonderful also.

They did all they could to make us feel important.
