39 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My spouse and I checked into the hotel after an exhausting day. We woke up and noticed bugs in the linen/blanket. The bugs even bit us and an untrained young girl (Loss Prevention Rep.) arrived and was very squirmish, rude and informed us to report to the Emergency Room and forward the bill. Followed their instructions and hand-carried the bill and never heard from ANYONE associated with the hotel period!. I finally reached a hotel-complain mediator after two months and she informed me that the hotel investigation revealed that the bugs must have fallen from our clothes. I was deeply in shock especially at a hotel of this magnitude and high prices ($240.00) and the customer service was poor, and that's saying it mildly. I was stuck with a $180.00 bill and not even an apology. This incident was reported to the Business Bureau, AAA and many other sites. A lawsuit is in progress but I highly recommend the Embassy Suite, Marriott or another equivalent hotel with GOOD reviews.
I returned to my hometown after serving 20 honorable years in the military and this was the treatment that I received. Later found out that the hotel is rated low because of poor service and untidy rooms. Wow, wish someone had sent me a telegram in Iraq. Hope this is helpful and I can be reached if you have any questions at the e-mail below because the truth is what it is.

I stayed one night in the $380 suites. I had a great view, friendly service, but the room was not worth the price.
It may have been a $200 or $250 room, but with tax its not worth $415. They automatically add on $16 for valet service, that you have to ask them to remove if you don't use it.
I attended a golf outing there in the last quarter of 06. It was outstanding, they have a great golf course, good food, good service, great rooms, a professional attitude, and not one negative.
The folks that havent been will be as shocked as I was. You would think from the look of the place you were in some European country. I can assure you it is the best in this part of the US, or at least that I am aware of! Go and enjoy, its a beautiful place!

I am originally from Birmingham. I returned home with my wife, also from the area, with our 2two children. We were impressed from the very start. We have lodged here several times and received royal treatment from the time we stepped onto the property. This resort is unique and exquisite. Its not for the faint of heart or traveling on a budget. It is a place where you can get lost and find yourself all in one excursion.
I stayed at the resort for a business trip so there was not much time to enjoy all that this resort has to offer. But I did see some very young children in the pool and they were having the time of their lives. If it is anything like the rooms......
