Renaissance Montura Hotel Los Angeles

Though I generally don't like to stay near LAX, I decided to take a chance on the Renaissance, as it was close to where I needed to be, and the price was right, and the hotel itself appeared to be much nicer than some of the dumps that pass for lodging down West Century. I was definitely not disappointed.

Even the deluxe rooms are great..the mattress and bedding are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The hotel bar is classy and elegant and doesn't have the typical hotel bar atmosphere. The business center and fitness center were also great, as was room service (though a tad steep in price).

I can honestly say that the staff of the Renaissance is absolutely wonderful and will go out of their way to accommodate you, and make your stay as wonderful as they possibly can. From early check-in being no problem, the extremely friendly bell staff and housekeeping staff, the valet parking attendants...I cannot name one staffer who disappointed me.

I highly recommend the Renaissance Montura if you are in the LAX area.

Our stay at this otherwise nice hotel was marred by very subpar service and attention by the staff. They were all very polite and nicely dressed but lacked any follow through in their service. For the price we expected much more!

I made a reservation on the phone while traveling to the airport property, by the time I got there I was told, there was no reservation on record and there were no rooms available. This hapenned Saturday Oct 13th at 4:00PM. I gave them my credit card info , everything down to my DNA, only to be turned away when I got to the hotel. Does the Marriott reservation center not have updated info as to the properties they book. I feel really compromised as I gave lots of credit and personal info to the reservation agent and then NOTHING> Outrageous indeed...Never going back there.

I cannot say that I would recommend this place.

Breakfast was to be included with the room rate as per the Marriott reservations agent only to have it overruled by the manager. This place is a high-end hotel with nickel and dime charges. $1-local, $9.95 wireless internet charges, pool needs to be refinished, etc, etc, etc.

Think twice about spending your money here, there are better hotels for less.

The location was close to the airport and was easily accessible from the freeway. The rooms were well laid out and the bed was extremely comfortable.

This hotel made me feel entertained: They have nice artwork throughout the hotel.
