Because of its size, one would think this hotel could not be managed properly. However, it is well managed and a pleasant place to stay.

This hotel made me feel welcome: I was involved in the planning of a meeting at this hotel. As a result, all of the staff was conscious of my needs.

Great location, right on Metro, close to the White House. The staff was great, even though I'd mistakenly asked for a double, they were able to switch me to a King. I noticed some of the guests were rather snooty, probably explains why some have had trouble. It's hard to work with divas! Beautiful interior, very historic.

49 year old woman with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

My family of 4 was given a room with a 3-person maximum per DC law. For over an hour, I was put off by front desk staff (including the front desk manager) who repeated the same excuses as to why we were unable to have the two-bed room we booked. I am disappointed that all staff involved were so unfocused on solving the problem - how to get 4 people the proper number of beds without forcing us to pay $300 for another room (hence another bed). Unbelievable! The bellman suggested to me the ultimate problem resolution - two rollaway beds in the room we were given! That man deserves a promotion or a raise, at least. Also, for such a highly rated hotel, service in the dining room and lounge was inconsistent. From kind, to sort-of attentive, to surly in the lounge. Next time we will look into the Willard Hotel in DC!

I am not likely to return to the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Lubbock, FL - Posted Jul 13, 05
58 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

The rooms were not as nice as shown in the brochure, and not well equipped. TV viewing was not accessible to all members of the party as it was located on one side of the room and there were no chairs to sit on. You could only see from the bed if you lay on your side. The bathroom was well equipped, but housekeeping was very slow in making up rooms.

This hotel was chosen for us. I consider it out of our league financially for most of our vacation trips. It was a pleasurable experience and if had to stay overnight in dc, would definitely stay there or recommend them to others if they could fit I.

This hotel made me feel welcome: Quality of service and friendliness of staff from doormen to maids.
