You don't have to be a fan of the Hollywood scene to be captivated by the breathtaking beauty of this region visible from your window in a room or suite at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. Some will care to know that this is the hotel where celebrities stand in waiting to receive their Oscars presented at the Kodak Theatre which is connected to the property. Staying at the Renaissance is a recommended experience, even for Southern California locals who want a change of pace. We spent only one night but are eager to return for another adventure. The Hollywood Hills with the famous HOLLYWOOD letters, skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles, West Hollywood and the Pacific Ocean all glisten magically in the distance. Shopping, dining and even a Starbucks are outside your hotel door and at the bottom of the stairs are the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. What we enjoyed most was the variety of restaurants and bars in the connecting shopping plaza. From Wolfgang Puck's Vert to affordable cafe dining, there are over a dozen restaurants to explore and some interesting shops selling clothing, teas, shoes and gifts. Take some great photos, have fantastic meals and book a suite at the Renaissance. It would be a nice birthday gift for a friend, loved one or yourself.

Very nice hotel, with a very nice view of the Hollywood area. I would think though for the price tag of 250 a night that at least there would be a mini bar heh. It was also rather cool that it was in the middle of a mixed mall area, so you could see ...
My best friend her sister and I, we all had a great stay at the Renaissance.
I had some issues at check-in time, as my room was not ready, I had to wait an hour and did have to call down to the front desk. The manager was very...

I have to write this review now, and will update it when we return from our visit.
From just a phone call, this hotel has already impresed me. Tonight, I called to ask questions about my upcoming reservation on Dec 27th. While the first gentleman I talked with was less than accomodating, I was finally passed through to a fantastic, hospitable and charming young woman named Marina.
She not only went ouf of her way to answer my questions, she SINCERELY apologized when she had to put me on hold! You do not find that very often.
She verified my reservation, and made sure that not only my requests were met, but she went one up more than I ever would have expected.
She not only met my expectations, but she greatly EXCEEDED them!
I can't wait for our visit to this hotel. If this is any indication of the type of experience we are in for, then it will be more than anything I could ever have imagined.
Considering I haven't been "home" to Cali in 21 years for Christmas, this hotel will be five stars, in my book, without them having to do anything! It will be awesome Just getting away from this Chicago snow and cold.
But, it it is nice to see that even without being a guest yet, I am feeling as if I am important and valued.

Horrible
I would not recommend this hotel for a family stay. few bad things - no fridge, no microwave, paid internet connectivity, paid/inconvenient parking, paid breakfast.. Worst is that pool is very small, has no life guards/life jackets for kids, there...
