You don't have to be a fan of the Hollywood scene to be captivated by the breathtaking beauty of this region visible from your window in a room or suite at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. Some will care to know that this is the hotel where celebrities stand in waiting to receive their Oscars presented at the Kodak Theatre which is connected to the property. Staying at the Renaissance is a recommended experience, even for Southern California locals who want a change of pace. We spent only one night but are eager to return for another adventure. The Hollywood Hills with the famous HOLLYWOOD letters, skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles, West Hollywood and the Pacific Ocean all glisten magically in the distance. Shopping, dining and even a Starbucks are outside your hotel door and at the bottom of the stairs are the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. What we enjoyed most was the variety of restaurants and bars in the connecting shopping plaza. From Wolfgang Puck's Vert to affordable cafe dining, there are over a dozen restaurants to explore and some interesting shops selling clothing, teas, shoes and gifts. Take some great photos, have fantastic meals and book a suite at the Renaissance. It would be a nice birthday gift for a friend, loved one or yourself.

Good beds.Proximity to touristy madness. Nice hotel in the heart of Hollywood's tourist attractions. Comfortable beds, good views, family friendly. Driving near this location can be tough and time consuming.
49 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I paid a lot to take my girls to Hollywood and stayed two nights in the Renaissance Marriot Hotel because it was connected to the Kodak Theater and shopping. It was a beautiful hotel but there were no extras at all. You would like to think when you are paying $$$ you might get something...No continental breakfast, just coffee that you have to make for yourself in the room and the coffee pot is so small you get just about 1 cup! We had 4 girls. The most unpleasant part of the experience was the $29 a day for valet parking. We were told that you can self park, but it' an hourly rate.

The view of the Hollywood sign.30 valet parking. This was definitely not a 4 star hotel, it was listed in the same category as the Mandarin and we were definitely disappointed. The pool was being renovated so we couldn't use that.
It was a very nice place, and in a great location for everything! The price is a little more that we want to pay, but we did pay it to stay there. The Foti's from Breaux Bridge,...
