My friends and I stumbled onto Hollywood to pass the time while waiting for “The Price Is Right.” We showed up on a Saturday and called their number at about 1pm (We had made no previous reservations). We were told we would have a two bedroom suite with king sized beds. Upon check-in though we went up to our room and found it to be a one room suite with two queen sized beds. We immediately went back down and we were informed that they have no two bedroom suites. We were tired and sweaty from the 100+ degree heat so we took what was offered, which was a 1 bedroom suite with a king sized bed and a pull-out in the main room.
It was very clean and the bathroom was spacious, with separate dual sinks. Two television sets and a nice coffee machine, but the coffee supplied (Wolfgang Puck) was pretty bad and no microwave or mini-fridge that you can self stock. The mini-fridge is only a mini-bar. The King size bed was comfortable and everything felt "new". The ironing board was a pain as it doesn't stand with even weight distribution, but that shouldn't bother people that don’t pack their clothes in a garbage bags like I did.
The valet service was pretty professional and speedy, as was room service. Everyone was helpful, except the front desk and their poor ability to properly communicate. All in all, though I've stayed at 3 star hotels that were far more pleasurable than this and since our one night stay with valet service cost us $355 USD total, the value was tremendously poor. The bartenders in the lobby bar were quite good though and made the drinks strong enough for us to forget this place. I really would only recommend this place for a family that 1: Wants to be as closed to possible to Hollywood, 2: Regard money as no object and 3: Does not plan to use the room as anything but a pit stop.
