Renaissance Hollywood Hotel Hotel - Page 1

I paid a lot to take my girls to Hollywood and stayed two nights in the Renaissance Marriot Hotel because it was connected to the Kodak Theater and shopping. It was a beautiful hotel but there were no extras at all. You would like to think when you are paying $$$ you might get something...No continental breakfast, just coffee that you have to make for yourself in the room and the coffee pot is so small you get just about 1 cup! We had 4 girls. The most unpleasant part of the experience was the $29 a day for valet parking. We were told that you can self park, but it' an hourly rate.

Everything about this hotel was up to par. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and it was in an ideal location for tourists. One thing that bothered me was that they did not have a spa, but I heard that they are in the process of building one that is going to be open in the Spring of 2008. It is called Spa Luce and if you sign up for their mailing list you get discounts and perks. Needless to say I already signed up so I am ready for my next visit.

I stayed at this hotel when it was the Holiday Inn Hollywood back in May of '81. The room I had was just two floors below the rooftop restaurant, it was very clean and neat, it had an excellent view of Los Angeles, and at night, it was lit up just like a fairyland.

Unfortunately at the time, Hollywood was very rundown and very decrepit. I compared it to some of the worst neighborhoods in Philadelphia.

I would definitely not stay in Hollywood again. I don't feel safe staying there, despite the good location.

It was in a very good area. The bell hops and the restaurant staff were very good. The desk staff was not the nicest and they told wrong information and then got rude. The housekeeping was not the best. They had not changed the bag in the ice bucket. I had walked in the room and there were towels and sheets on the floor and the chair.

The hotel was conveniently located to nearby shopping and dining and it had a great view. The conference amenities at the hotel were excellent and the rooms were adequate but comfortable and clean. My advice is to take a cab as parking is thirty dollars per day.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The staff was easy to talk to. The bed was comfortable as well as other furniture in the room.
