I had the occasion to stay at your most prestigious hotel. The service was good until we had a banquet/ball on Saturday, July 14, 2007 in one of your ballrooms. Our food server was a great person, good personality and demeanor and liked by all the the table. Our desert was apple pie. Each person's pie was crumbled in pieces. He provided us with a pie that we could cut ourselves to serve at the table. What a wonderful gesture. Another person came over to the table and arrogantly, abruptly and demeaning literally snatched the pie from one of the persons at the table as he was beginning to cut it, and placed it on a serving silver tray. He was rude, ugly and very unprofessional to us and to our waiter. When I approached this other person, he spoke to me as though I was a person beneath him and that he "ran the show" and "what he says goes." He continued to speak in a demeaning manner, and I alerted him to the fact that his admonistment of the other waiter was unprofessional. This person made sure he "read me the rights" of what should and should not have been done, and that it did not matter what I said, he did not care one way or the other about the statements I was making. In other words, he was so arrogant and rude, the entire table of persons could hear him raising his voice as though admonishing ME!!! I did not become verbal with this man, and told him I would write management about this incident. His words to me were - "go ahead and do what you need to do." What type of representation of your hotel is this? If I were looking to sponsor an event at your hotel, with this representation, I would not even consider it. Please extend to the nice waiter our heartfelt thanks for the courtesies he extended to us and we hope that in some way, your hotel will address this matter with the rude person.
