Renaissance Concourse Hotel Atlanta Hotel - Page 1

I am a frequent business traveler and normally stay at Marriott hotels. I had reserved a room at this location for three nights approximately two months before due to a training class that I had registered for that was being taught at the hotel. Upon my arrival, I was told that I had been bumped from my room and would be walked to another hotel nearby because of a conference that was being held at the hotel and that they had overbooked. I wasn't happy but having worked in the hotle industry previously understood that these things sometimes happen. They offered to comp a nights stay. When I got to the hotel I had been moved to, I found it to be nowhere near equal to the hotel I should have been staying in and there were all sorts of problems with the billing and the complimentary nights stay. I went back to the Renaissance the following day for my training class and decided to speak with the manager on duty, who offered complimentary lunch and another nights free stay. However, when I got back to the run down hotel that I had been moved to, I found that he had not called to make the hotel aware that I was to recieve another night for free due to my inconvenience as the free billing only helped the company out that I work for not me personally for my disruption in my schedule. If you are going to promise someone something, and take their name to act like you are actually going to do it, then you need to follow through instead of making false promises. To be fair, some of the front desk staff were helpful while others were totally incompetent, which may have been a reflection of the training they received from the poor management. This was not a good exeperience and Marriotts business practices are questionable.

Convenient and yet inconvenient. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Request balcony room with a view of the airport. Sounds of planes taking off and landing were barely audible from inside room. The young and young at heart will enjoy the view. Rooms were well appointed, very clean and the staff was professional and welcoming.
