The woman that owns the place is well know and appears to be very nice but has no clue how to run a hotel or restaurant. And after spending several weeks there (i'm a biologist) I sugguest staying, eating and drinking elsewhere. She treats her staff horribly and

fires people on a regular basis for no apparent reason. The restaurant is run by 2 kids who drink on the job and flirt with every young man that walks into the place, including men with their

wives and children. The service is terrible and slow, the food cold and greasy. The rooms are supposedly remodeled, but they are shabby and drafty, with no privacy what so ever. The celing on the bottom floor is wide open, wires exposed and all. And when the vending machine, or laundry machines eat your money, don't expect a refund.

The individuals behind the front desk were poorly trained. The rooms were a sad attempt at being remodeled, and the restaurant, well the staff were simply horrible as was the meal.

Needs new management very badly

Cordova is out of the way, and a small Alaska town not ready for tourists. That is why this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Rooms were upscale for the price--better by far than the room I had in Anchorage for $100 more! Granted, rooms were in more demand in the big city, but going to Cordova was the best detour I took during my trip to Alaska. The food was good at the restaurant/bar & the staff is friendly. Everyone seems to be a "local" and really like their town. For good reason--Cordova and the surrounding area is beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer--my room and the town was just great. I had a harborview room with a small deck and watched the harbor and the busy commercial fishing boats. Got a little noisy sometimes, but it was good noise of a busy harbor. I'll be back.

It’s clean, comfortable rooms with lots of new upgrades. Best of all, was the location on the harbor, one block from Main Street, and a killer deck. Order the prawns or the fish & chips.
