Relax Inn and Suites El Cajon Motel

I was forced to stay in a hotel until i found a new apartment in san diego, but i had very little money. This place was affordable (although they kept changing the rates for me) I had a king size bed and it was very comfortable. I was broke so this was a good option for me and i did not mind staying in the hotel.

However, It most definitely is not a clean or very nice place to stay. It is located right next to the 8 highway which is convenient but VERY LOUD! Also, my room had stains on the floor, towels and sheets, as well as cigarette burns all over the sheets. The lights flickered, the phone cord in my room had clearly been ripped by someone. and there was no lock on the door. I reported all these issues immediately and they did not fix them or offer me and another room the hole 3 weeks i was there.

So my review is, if your broke and you dot mind things a little ghetto then this hotel is great. But don't be fooled it doesn't look anything like this pictures. And all the attractions its "Close to" are about 20 to 30 minutes away.

After paying over $120.00, for what the girl at the desk said was the only available room, I carried my sleeping 5 yr. old from the car to what had been described as a one bedroom suite, less than 5 minutes later I returned to the desk sleeping child in my arms. I would not set my son down in that place. there was human waste on the couch and it was extremely nasty in the entire "suite".

The front desk idiot would not leave the office to see for herself the shape of the rm. I was refused a refund. I left that place intent to report them to the health department, and consumer affairs.

I woke up to blood on my sheets that did not belong to me. The clerk called the manager who insisted it not was not blood although she was some 20 miles away managing the Vagabond Inn. She then offended me further by offering me a $10 discount. I am contacting the Health Department and getting an blood test.

We stayed at this hotel on November 24-25th, 2006 after seeing their "wonderful" website and all what they claim to be. Don't be fooled.

I booked this hotel way in advance of staying there and spoke to the reception guy. He gave me my confirmation number after I gave him my credit card. We went with friends, and we specifically requested two non-smoking rooms. I asked what time we should arrive and he said anytime, as we were going to Sea World first.

Upon our arrival, we learned they sold one of our rooms to someone else, and that they would only take "cash", he said it would be far too much to charge it. The manager, a lady, said she thought we were not coming, but held the confirmation for one more hour. Even if we did not show, the room would still have been charged and they appear to "Double-dip" by selling rooms already sold!

There was no complimentary breakfast, and the manager said she had never seen the website, I had the copy, which she made a copy of. She also cleaned up the room (117). We were supposed to have had two queen size beds, and we ended up with only one queen for the three of us. The room was disgusting and the mattress stains would lead one to think that it should be closed for health code violations, beware!

It was nicer than expected. I liked the friendly hotel receptionist. I will definitely be staying there again. There is a Denny's restaurant right next door.

This hotel made me feel respected: They greeted me with a smile and by name.
