21 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Good Points:
The staff all spoke very good English, were helpful and friendly at all times. The hotel is just a 2 minutes walk from 2 metro stations. You are close to all the main attractions of Paris, including the Grevin Wax Museum which is a must for all ages (5 minute walk from the hotel). The Hard Rock Cafe is next to the wax museum which is also a must! There are also lots of cafes and restaurants just minutes away on foot.
We thought the breakfast was very good considering it is only a 3 star hotel. There were croissants, chocolate croissants, 2 types of cereals, hard boiled eggs, orange juice on tap (have as much as you like), tea and coffee, fruit salad, a selection of cheese and ham, yogurts, bread and lots of different types of jams. But get to the breakfast room before 10 am or most of this will be gone.
Bad Points:
Our room was clean and tidy, but there were quite a few non-removable stains on the carpet and bed sheets. The rooms are very, very small. Just big enough to fit in a double bed! The bathroom is also tiny. The street the hotel is located on is not the best (it is a back street and the hotel is located near the end). There were a lot of men loitering around in groups and drinking, which made us feel a bit unsafe at night. One morning there was vomit near the entrance of the hotel. The street cleaners sprayed it away, but made it go all over the street, which was really gross. The area is also very dirty. Lots of rubbish around. (But this is Paris!). The area is very noisy at night and there is no view.
Would I stay there again? No. The street is too dirty, we didn't like the area and we didn't like all the men hanging around outside.
However, this was good value for money and you get what you pay for. I would say this is okay for people staying for only one night or two and who will only be using the hotel for sleeping. Staying for any longer and I suggest you find a hotel located on a main street, in a better area of Paris.
