Regency Inn and Suites Hotel - Page 1

I checked into this motel on Aug 24, 2008. We arrived around 8:15, and were in a room by 8:30. By 8:45 we had found two roaches in our room. When I asked for my money back, the attendant, who could not speak nearly adequate English, indicated that if he gave me my money back he would lose his job. I asked for the manager, he again indicated he would lose his job. Then he said I had been there for three hours, and could not have a refund. By now I had been there about 45 minutes. I was refused a refund, and was told since the woman there had picked up the roach and taken it out that everything was OK, no problem! I did not succeed yet in getting refund, but I hope to keep others from sleeping with roaches.

Several of the outlets in our room didn't work. When trying to use the one by the bathroom sink, it made a sound as though it was shorting out. Notified Management, but they didn't seem too interested in fixing it.

Other annoyances:

-- The door lock would not always open the door.

-- The bathroom had a very large mildew problem

-- We had 4 people staying in a double room for a funeral. When we notified management that we would need 4 towels, he looked disgusted. Every morning after the cleaning service finished the room, there were only two towels. We had to go to the front desk 3 times to get additional towels.

-- We requested a non-smoking room, but our reserved room was already given away to someone else.

-- The management could *barely* speak English.

-- They seemed irritated at every request to fix the issues that we brought up.

I would never stay there again. I would also recommend that no-one stay there until some major electrical updating has been done.

The shower curtain was badly stained. The refrigerator and microwave were stacked and electric cords were plugged into a "hole" in the wall, and only ran if you jiggled the cords (a major hazard). There were indentions in the floor in several places under the carpet. No coffee maker as mentioned in their amenities list, we had to ask for one; they brought it to the room, and it was just rinsed out and stained, like someone just got done using it. Their Continental breakfast was nice.
