I chose this bed and breakfast based on their listing in Hotels.com, most of which was untrue.
They said they were two blocks from the French Quarter, and in fact it was at least 10 blocks to what most people would consider the French Quarter. The ad said there was a nightly wine and cheese social, but it never happened. I was told that since Katrina, they could not afford it. (Their only storm damage was a few roof shingles that blew away.)
There were a pool and hot tub as advertised, but the pool had branches and debris in it and the pool was a brilliant green. The rooms were dark and dreary and smelly. The bathroom had dozens of dead bugs on the floor that did not go away when I complained and the room was cleaned. There were no phones, just a common phone on the front porch that would only reach the "office" inside the building. There was a nice enough lobby for sitting, where the breakfast was served, but it was only open during the breakfast hours and a couple of hours in the afternoon for check-in. The rest of the time, it was locked up tight.
I had my wheelchair with me, but luckily, with effort, I can climb a few stairs. The closest room to ground level was up four stairs. So was that worthless phone on the porch, and it was the only way to contact the staff. The ad said the rooms had a microwave and refrigerator or kitchenette, but mine had only a refrigerator. There was internet access as advertised, but only in that lobby that was locked most of the time.
There were no batteries in the remote for the TV, so I had to go out and buy some. (I was told the last guest in the room must have stolen them, but no offer to replace them.) The final insult was that I was told that if I chose to leave and find better accommodations, I was still obligated to pay for both nights I had reserved.
Don't be victimized like I was. Stay away.
