Nice & huge Resort Hotel. Rooms are pretty but the bathrooms are a little small. We were placed in what is supposed to be golf-view room but w/c was actually looked more like an abandoned field area. I was requesting for a better view but the front desk lady said there was nothing better available. The bedside telephone was not working, the desk telephone was malfunctioning. The clock was also busted and the refrigerator/mini bar is locked. We still had to call for the key. Generally, the staff are pretty nice. We enjoyed the splashtopia, especially the lazy river. But I still think we didn't get our money's worth. Hopefully next time we can get a better room w/ a better view and everyting working.
Late in check in and we had to wait. Carpet had a spot and house keeping never cleaned it. Missing coffee pot in the room. Screen door broke off. Pool ran out of towels. NO HOT WATER for shower. Keys don't work for gate. Too crowded and too many
Rancho Las Palmas Misses the Mark

Okay
Besides pretentiousness, the $35m upgrade misses. No soundproofing was added so "Thumper" above us was a real negative. It already is showing lack of maintenance and cleanliness. Top of filter in bathroom had a months dust collected and...
Very Nice. Great option for kids.

Excellent
Rancho Las Palmas was a very pleasant surpise! I have 3 children - ages 9, 6, and 4. To celebrate my 40th birthday we were looking for place to stay that would have enough "fun factor" so that the kids could stay entertained all day, while ...
We arrived late Memorial Day. It was obvious it had been a busy weekend with all the cleaning up that the staff was doing. We spent three days mid-week during a time when most schools are still in session, so it was not crowded.
My family and I were really looking forward to a great weekend this last Mothers day. I spent a great deal of time to see if this newly remodeled resort was ready for business. Here is what I found:

I can't wait to return! The only reason I didn't give it a perfect ten is the poolside service was slow on the particular Saturday we were there. But the servers, I believe, were trying to do their best! Not a vacant room at all, needless to say, it was packed!! The food was great, our room was just fine (huge flat screen) If you have kids I recommend getting a room close to Splashtopia. Cassandra, Pearl & Tammy are the nicest and helpful room reservation agents. Fernando, Sergio, "Dr." Martin were all very friendly employees. If you plan on spending the weekend and you want a lot of shade, book a cabana a head of time. They were all sold out for our Saturday stay. I believe I saw ac outlets in them. Bring the margarita machine and a small fan to plug in and you would have it made! (check if okay first) Last but not least, they have a hugh screen to play "G" rated movies by the pool for the kids on certain evenings beginning at 7:00.
Of course we were coming from northern Indiana, in February, so we were open to a positive experience. But, objectively, this hotel/spa was fabulous! We are picky when it comes to cleanliness and this place was primo in that regard! The bed in the...
