Great location for walking and biking

Good
Great location for walking and biking to activities- parking lot was too small and often we could not find a place to park. A complimentary breakfast would have made this a perfect place to stay. Pool area was drab. Go to hot springs instead.

Mediocre
First night NO AC at all. Repairs promised and solution was installation of window unit! Next solution was changing rooms. Both times solutions had to be initiated by me and handled through online travel website Customer Service.
The weekend breakfast was a disaster. We were there on May 25 weekend. It seems they had no idea how to provide a buffet breakfast for large crowds. They kept running out of food, juice, coffee, and plates; and the line kept getting longer and...

We found this motel to be very clean and well furnished. We like to hike and they even had a local trail map in the room. The owners are very hospitable and have owned this motel for years. We have stayed there many times and have always found the service to be the best of places we stay.
Glenwood Springs is a fun little town that offers many opportunities for activities, exercise and eating. The hot springs is fun and a real attraction.
In 1994 the town experienced the loss of 14 firefighters on Storm King Mountain. They have many memorials as well as a hiking trail in memory of those that perished helping to save their town.
Hats off to the owners and the town of Glenwood Springs.

This unfortunate Ramada suffers from one great defect, no attention to detail.
A partial list follows:
1) While other hotels whisked their guests away from the train upon arrival, Ramada guests waited 15 minutes.
2) The room smelled, maybe because of the fireplace, but it was ugly.
3) An interior door was badly, obviously broken.
4) One of the sink faucets was loose.
5) The drain in the bathtub couldn't be closed for a bath.
6) The breakfast service was glacial. The wait staff acted like they had never seen the inside of a restaurant before. Coffee came 20 minutes after sitting in two consecutive mornings.
It went on and on, and on and on. Its a poor value for the money.

We requested a non-smoking room and the room reeked of smoke. Its an old property, and its not clean. You will love it if you like smoke, and old, dirty, rooms.
The Ramada is filthy dirty and the non-smoking rooms reek of cigarette smoke. The rooms are unbearably hot in the summer. Breakfasts are expensive...most hotels in the area have free...
