22 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

When I booked this room, it was very important to me. I manage a restaurant and bar in a hotel myself. I am very busy, and I forgot my fiance's birthday. This was the first weekend that I was able to get off of work since we opened three months ago. Everything was very nice in the lobby and at the front desk. I got a whirlpool king smoking room pool-side, and it was nice too. When we went to the restaurant for our dinner reservations, the chef was wonderful. He even made a special birthday cake for us. But the server and the assistant chef were both rude. But, I wasnt going to let it upset our special evening. Before we went to bed, I had plugged in my phone charger and my phone. In the morning, I had unplugged my phone, but not my charger. We had requested a late check out, but had housekeeping knocking on our door for the hour that I had asked to stay longer. When we packed up to leave, I forgot to unplug my phone charger and take it along. We then went to lunch and Lake Mont Park. When we were leaving the park, I remembered that I had left my charger at the hotel. We returned to the hotel about 6:30 p.m.. I asked the front desk if they had happened to find it, and they said that it was locked up in housekeeping, and that I should come back and get it another time. Even though I live an hour away, I told them that I would be back in a few days, and to please hold it for me. About three or four days later, I called the Ramada and asked if they had found my phone charger. They told me to come up and get it at the front desk. So I drove an hour there and waited twenty minutes for them to tell me that they could not find it. I told them that I had called and they told me to come get it, but they said they could not help me. The General Manager was not there but would be back in, so I left and called. I left a message on his voicemail and waited. After an hour, I drove an hour back home highly irritated. The next day I called and left another message. The day after that I called and left another message. Its been almost two weeks since my stay, and I have heard nothing at all. I was going to get a whirlpool suite for my fiances parents anniversary, but I will never recommend that hotel to anyone again.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Before making reservations a friend of mine read some reviews saying the hotel was awful, she called to ask about the reviews and they assured her that the hotel had just been renovated. We made reservations for a wedding we were attending on Saturday August 4, 2007. We arrived late Friday/Early Saturday morning at 7 am from a 5 hour drive from the beaches in Delaware. When I made the reservation I informed the hotel that we would not be arriving until early saturday morning, but needed a room as soon as we got in. We had to pay for both friday and saturday nights in order to do this. When we arrived, exhausted at 7 am they told us that they had filed us as a NO SHOW in the computer and had billed my credit card for Friday night. It took 15 minutes for them to sort it out and they had to call housekeeping to make sure the room was still clean. The room was okay, but very out dated in appearance and had obviously not been renovated anytime recently. Saturday morning I called for more towels because there were only 3 in the room and 4 of us to take showers. They said that housekeeping was going on lunch break and would have them up when they could....I quickly said no that we were showering and getting ready for a wedding and needed them ASAP. Saturday afternoon we ordered room service....worst food ever, and they did not even send everything up that they were supposed to. On the way to the wedding we heard from other friends of ours how bad their experience was goin as well. Today, Sunday morning, we woke up to brown water...the entire hotel did. They told us that the city must have been cleaning the lines. It was disgusting and we could not even use the water to brush our teeth. Worst hotel ever....oh and PS the city isn't too much better!

44 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had at a hotel. My wedding was on Sunday, May 27 2007, booked a block of rooms in January '07 called to confirm rooms in April '07 and on Thursday, May 24 2007, contact the hotel again to reconfirm reservations. Traveled to the hotel on my wedding day, to dress with my party, went to check-in at the hotel, to be informed that they had no rooms available under my room block, before my wedding I was so upset, as none of my guest had any of the rooms I had made reservations for, all my guests came in from Europe for the wedding. My wedding dress was to be in my room when I arrived, NO WEDDING DRESS, the best man was not allowed to put my dress in the room, because there was no room, even though I had made arrangements prior to the wedding date. I spent my wedding day, listening to my guest complain to me that they had no reservations, the club were the wedding was held tried to sort out the rooms for my guests, during the reception. At 1:30 am when I returned to the hotel in my gown, I was at the front desk trying to sort out rooms. The Managers and staff, have being trying to pass the buck ever since, it was the worst experience at a hotel in my life. The managers and staff do not care about their guest or what kind of experience you have, and argued with me over the situation

The only thing I did not like was the way the rooms were set up. I am slightly handicapped and I did not request a handicapped room, but the rooms were set up down a lot of different halls and there was only one elevator. I had to walk forever to get to my room.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Ramada Inn Altoona.
I might recommend it to friends.
