Wyndham Hotel Group
26 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I stayed at Ramada Eastside in March 2009, and I found it unlike many other reasonably-priced New York hotels.
My room was spacious, looked recently renovated, and was squeaky clean. The same applies to the bathroom. The beds deserve separate praise as they featured Tempur-Pedic foam mattresses, which my travel companions and I found very comfortable. The hotel offers quality continental breakfast, with more or less standard choice of food.
The hotel is also in a great location: it is on a corner of Lexington Avenue and 30th Street, only three blocks away from the nearest subway station (which is at 28th and Park Ave). It is also within a reasonable walking distance (less than half an hour) from the majority of Midtown attractions. And the area immediately around the building is very quiet.
There are only a few relatively minor gripes that I have noticed. For some reason, the bathroom door had a translucent glass in it, which did not feel like it would offer complete privacy. Also, the breakfast room is rather small, so during the peak travel season one may have to wait in line to get the breakfast.
I am very likely
to return to the Ramada Eastside.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

61 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business
Since my home office is on nearby Park Av. South, I can't beat this hotel for price, location and general quality. It's not a Hyatt, the rooms are a lttle small, but it is clean and in a great little neighborhood-no tourist spots, just unique resturants that locals use.
Nice Fitness room, free breakfast.
The only problem I have has is with the heating controls-I don't think each room really has the control over heat or not-it comes on in intervals. Sometimes it can get a little chilly.

This is a smaller hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood, but convenient to everything and is clean clean clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rates are very reasonable.
