41 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
This hotel was not at all what we thought it would be. The halls where very dark and gloomy, it made me think of the movie the shinning. I know that it is an old hotel but some remodeling is needed badly and all can be done without taking the charm from this place. The staff I will give a ten plus but everything else was bad. We convinced friends to come along and now we are surprised that they are still our friends . We will never forget this experience. I know pets are allowed so please make an area for the pets to play and use the bathroom. We had to look at waste in the grass in front of the door whenever we came out the front door now this is terrible.

This hotel was not what we had expected! About 20+ family members all booked together for a wedding; most checked into another hotel the next day. The rooms were nice in appearance (the only reason for my "above 1" review) but everything else was disappointing. VERY smelly, damp rooms. Found ants in my bed on the first night; another family member found 2 cocroaches in their room. Bath towels had hair pieces in them and mildew along tubs and floors. Some AC units went out (during July) and on a few occasions, the power failed. Beds were uncomfortable, hotel noise was SO loud - very poorly maintained and updated. For the expense of the stay ($100/night) there were no extras like breakfast included and the staff was really unhelpful. VERY POOR STAY!!!

When we arrived the TV in our assigned room was on, the bed looked like it had been slept-in and their was a "present" floating in the bathroom. The staff was very nice about it and gave us a new room and a $10 price off the first night. The other really irritating thing is that non of the ice machines in the building worked. The staff did bring us ice to our room when we asked were their was a working ice machine. So to sum things up, the staff here is very nice, but the cleaning and up keep of the property were very poor. We have previously stayed at the Govorner's Inn for less money and a nicer, clean room.

The air conditioning unit was not working effectively. It had a hard time cooling the room during the day. We notified the front desk, however, the situation did not seem to improve after three more days there.
The staff seemed to care. I had a friendly check in.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Ramada 1776 Historic Williamsburg.
I might recommend it to friends.

Horrible
The hotel hasn't been updated in about 10 years- the hotel was so musty and moldy that my husband and I couldn't stay there due to our allergies immediately acting up upon entering the room!! Don't do it... we left 15 minutes after check in and...
