Raine Motel

We were on our way from Regina to Brownsville to visit our children for Christmas when the engine in our motor home blew up. We by chance, found the Motel Raine across from the Dodge dealer in Valentine, Nebraska. May I say what a find!!! A wonderful place, clean, modern with large rooms and most of all management by private ownership who care. We stayed for two nights when the Owner then had time to drive us to North Platte, Nebraska Regional Airport (at no charge - said he was going that way anyhow) so we could catch a plane on to Brownsville in time for Christmas. They told us to park our motor home behind the Motel where it would be safe and pick it up next spring or they would pull it across the street to the dealer for repair. Talk about people who go the extra mile. Very friendly and the houskeeper went out of her way to bring us extras as she had been told by the owner that our vehicle broke down and she knew we were "stuck" in Valentine for a couple of days. Our stay was more than comfortable. Cleanliness of the rooms was immaclate and we can recommend the Motel Raine in Valentine, Nebraska to anyone and everyone that we see, knowing that they will be treated as if they are royalty. The grass in not green in Valentine, Nebraska in December. The owner gave us the photographs taken earlier in the year and told us they were ours to use however we wanted.

This place is quite charming but most of all very clean. Young family owned. Manager "Dusty" very accommodating and cordial. I and my traveling companions rented three rooms, all were immaculately clean, large and comfortable. Early morning breakfast was excellent. When we told "Dusty" we were going to the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore he ask if we had reservations and said to us you will need them since this is "Bike Week" there.

He then made eleven telephone calls at his expense (did not charge us) and found us a fabulous room at the "Old Log Cabin Motel" in Hot Springs, South Dakota. This reminded us of our country.

I can never say enough good comments about this Motel Raine, Dusty or any of the other people there - they go beyond excellence.
