I arrived in Helsinki never having been to Europe or a foreign country before, and I was nervous having chosen a location where I did not speak the native language and knew nothing about the culture. The Plaza Hotel provided the perfect platform for learning about life in Helsinki and the perfect retreat after a long day of sight-seeing in the snow and cold. From check-in to check-out, I was treated like a special guest in someone's home, and I felt more comfortable about traveling alone. The staff were friendly and efficient, and room service was prompt. The hotel restaurant provided a complimentary breakfast in addition to a menu that allowed me to sample traditional Finnish cuisine such as reindeer steak. By far the most outstanding feature of the hotel was the sauna, a must-do for any visitor to Finland. It was clean, cozy and private- an accurate way to describe the Plaza Hotel despite its central location in Helsinki, right next to the railway station and a short walk to the harbor. At night the multi-colored lights of the elegant old structure were visible from blocks away, reinforcing the sentiment that I was never far from home.

I spent my last holiday in Helsinki for a week. The hotel was excellent, clean friendly and I've never tasted coffee so good! Planning a return to Helsinki soon and wouldnt hesitate before booking the Radisson again.
